HUNTER RIFLE MATCH
On
The match was a Hunter Rifle Match with a rifle with
either scope or iron sights that you would be taking to go deer hunting. No
match rifles or competition-like rifles could be used. The weather started out
a little windy but slowed down though out the match. We had 8 shooters show up
for this match. The first course of fire was 10 shots standing in a time limit
of 5 mins. in which awards were given for 1st through 3rd
places. The next course was 3 shots standing in 30 seconds, and then 3 shots
standing or kneeling in 30 seconds, and then 3 shots again in 30 seconds either
sitting, kneeling or standing. The last course was 1 shot from any position
except prone at a water filled jug in 10 seconds. All targets including the
water jugs were about the size of the vital area of a deer. It turned out to be
quite challenging and everyone had a good time and thought that it was fun.
Awards were given out for 1st through 4th place and this
included bring home the ‘bacon’ with each person taking a place award getting a
pound of bacon in addition to a cash prize. This is a match that we certainly
will have again! We welcome everyone to come out and shoot!
